Every one of us has been charged with Leadership

In an effort to find some way to get to Al-Firdaws, to be in the company of the great leaders of the past, and to, of course, be as close to Allah (swt) as possible, all of my work related to community organizing thus far has been toward one purpose:

**To create an environment in our communities that will allow Muslims to EXCEL at, well… being Muslim; at being all that a Muslim should be.**

It is my hope that this goal, vague though it may seem, will unify all of my future efforts, so that I don’t fall into the infamous trap of Brand Extension, a concept I finally learned officially in the NicheHero Leadership seminar by Shaikh Muhammad Alshareef.

I say “officially” because I’ve witnessed this phenomenon happen in Muslim communities, in which the leaders try to take on everything, and thus spread themselves thin and end up accomplishing very little.

I’ve even fallen into the trap myself, being more of the visionary type. Sometimes it seems I’ve got ideas and plans for everything, from revert support and youth programs, to Da’wah efforts and community business networking.

Of course, one person can’t take on all of these fields. But it is my hope, inshaAllah, that with the right approach, I can still have a part in benefiting multiple sectors of Muslim community needs, while still focusing on one goal.

So with this inshaAllah, I charge forward into action, with the following hadith, engraved on NicheHero souls by Sh. Muhammad, in mind:

“Each one of you is a shepherd. And each one of you will be asked about your flock…”
